Dr Freddie Booysen brings extensive senior leadership experience across operational command, incident management, crime intelligence coordination, paramilitary structures, and organisational governance. His career has shaped a leadership approach rooted in discipline, integrity, and decisive action in complex environments.
After a distinguished 36-year career in national law enforcement, he now leads Shakat full-time, providing high-level advisory and training to organisations seeking world-class security insight. Dr Booysen retired in 2025 from the South African Police Service at the rank of Brigadier, where he served in senior operational and executive leadership roles

He has many years' experience as a mentor, coach, researcher, trainer and facilitator. He was a lecturer at CFCI @The Vaal Bible College in Vanderbijlpark where he taught: Biblical Principles of Marriage, Be a People Person, Practical Leadership, Leadership Principles, The Ministry of Jesus and Developing Godly Character.
He was a member of the National Project Management Team for the Incident management Systems (IMS) Project who successfully registered the National Certificate in Incident Management NQF Level 5 qualification with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
